Bio | Dr Genevieve McKew is a Microbiologist and Infectious Diseases Physician, currently practising at Concord Repatriation and General Hospital. She has interests in the molecular determinants of antimicrobial resistance, rapid laboratory detection and identification of sepsis-causing bacteria, hospital-acquired infections, treatment of staphylococcal and enterococcal infections, quality use of antimicrobials, and the impact of molecular typing on infection prevention. She has an interest in digital health, and practical applications of this to achieve better outcomes in her clinical interests. She supervises clinical medicine training of physicians for their clinical examinations, and tutors medical students in clinical examination and infectious diseases. She also enjoys teaching antimicrobial use, mechanisms of action and resistance, zoonoses, clinical infectious diseases, and diagnostic microbiology. She supervises MD program projects in antibiotic use, infectious diseases and microbiology. |
